At Germany’s highest hotel you can not only spend the night at the highest level. It is also possible to run up to the panorama terrace. Close to the river Spree and the Berlin television tower you can mount one of Berlin’s highest buildings on your own.
The "RunUp" starts next to the Lobby. On flat steps you are running up the first levels. Again and again the rhythm changes slightly due to a nonstandard level. The landmark of the provincial capital can be seen from far. Especially at night it shines over Stuttgart. Brightly illuminated it can be used as orientation at night when running easily. However, if you are running the emergency staircase of the television tower you do not need any help for orientation. There is only one direction going up.
Just behind the elevator you step inside the tower where a staircase leads the direct way up on the outer wall. Due to the high steps and the highly installed handrail you need a lot of power to run up the steps. Only short breaks interrupt the long staircases. The fourth highest building of Europe is so high that its top reaches the clouds. The tower of the MesseTurm is a real skyscraper. With its height of 257.5 meters it overtops nearly all buildings even in Frankfurt.
An unremarkable door in the lobby of the building opens the way to the staircase. . After the first 10 nonstandard levels a constant running will follow. A triangular floor plan will lead you up level by level. A short flat section on each level allows your muscles to relax shortly.
